The Fellowship programme of Bharatiya Jnanpith has been rechristened as Jnangarima Manad Alankaran – an award especially reserved for very senior and celebrated authors, above seventy five years of age, who have made immense contribution towards Indian literature through their creations. This is an annual award and the award constitutes of one time grant, shawl, citation and saraswati murti normally presented in the felicitation ceremony.
